Dalla Piramide alla Bocca della Verità
Next to Porta San Paolo (Saint Paul Door), which you can reach with the metro line B, is located the monumental Cestia Pyramid, tomb of Roman time, built in the honour of Caio Cestio Epulone
Continuing on Viale Giotto and on Viale Guido Baccelli, we arrive to the Terms of Caracalla, one of the biggest thermal complex of the antiquity.
Our itinerary continues on “Via delle Terme di Caracalla”, arriving then to the Circo Massimo (Massimo Circus), great example of the architecture of the Etruscan Rome, built for the spectacles by King Tarquinio Prisco.
Along “Via del Circo Massimo”, we reach the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, where is located the mask of the Mouth of the Truth which also gives its name to the front square.
According to the tradition, whoever lies after having put the hand inside the mask, will lost it.
