This acronym stands for the new Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, established in the ex-Peroni brewery with an area of 10,000 square meters. Situated in an area that was only developed between the 19th and 20th centuries, a decision was taken to make use of the empty space.

Here, once again, it is art that has been delegated the role of revitalizing an urban area: this building brings the local residents face to face with artists actively involved in artistic production.
Art, here, is no longer removed from its social and urban context, nor is it in the hands of an elite as it was for decades, but it is under the eyes of anybody who wants to become involved. Odile Cecoq won the international competition in 1998 to design the new museum. All the different arts are involved in her concept - music, the visual arts, the cinema, the theater, dance, and literature.
These arts, in all their various forms and stages, are renewing and re-vitalizing the City of Rome.
