Borghese Gallery
In the rooms are exhibited some master pieces of the European painting and sculpture such as the marble groups Pluto and Proserpine, Apollo and Daphne and the David of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the Paolina Borghese of Canova, the David with the head of Goliath and the Madonna of the Footmen of Caravaggio, Sacred Love and Profane Love of Tiziano, a Pity of Rubens, the deposition of Raffaello, in addition to paintings of Domenichino, Antonello da Messina, Correggio and Lorenzo Lotto.
Capitolini Museums
The collections, started by Sisto IV in 1497 after Christ with some groups of sculptures in bronze, welcome nowadays some of the most important works of the panorama of the classical art such as the equestrian statue of Marco Aurelio dating from the 2nd century after Christ, in the cortile of "Palazzo Nuovo", or the bronzes of the "Lupa Capitolina", of the "Spinario", of the Head of Constantine, or of the bust of Brutus in the "Palazzo dei Conservatori".
