Musica e Mito negli Affreschi di Raffaello (Music and Myth in Raphael's frescoes)

A wonderful journey through the Italian Renaissance. An itinerary where you'll meet some of the most important works by Raffaele Sanzio, during the guided tours in the Villa Farnesina of Rome, thanks to the exhibit called ‘Musica e Mito negli Affreschi di Raffaello' (‘Music and Myth in Raphael's frescoes'). The exhibit has actually a real soundtrack: renaissance music will be played on real old instruments during your visit. This event will take place until December 18th, 2012 in the Villa Farnesina, the ideal location for a show like this! The Villa is actually a masterwork of Renaissance architecture, and here you can some of the most important frescoes realized by Raphael himself.

Your guide during the tour is a scholar of arts history, and you can walk with him/her along the halls and outer parts of the villa, discovering the different works of art, and understanding the Italian and Roman renaissance. The tour ends with a concert, organized inside a special room in the Villa, with musicians performing typical renaissance music, by Galilei, Barbetta, Mudarra, Praetorius and Ortiz. Every tour is a sort of window open on the time, and the music will help you to understand the real spirit of the art.
An amazing experience, when knowledge is also emotion, and history is unveiled through the music and the immortal masterworks of renaissance artists.
