After a rainy winter than ever before, has finally arrived, the spring season, and the good weather that characterizes that brings with it the desire to leave the house, maybe even arrange for a small vacation in one of the many beautiful cities in Italy.
The calendar 2009 has meant that June 2 this year falls on Tuesday, which translated means a word that even the labor stakanovisti appreciate: "extended holiday"! The day of the feast of the Italian Republic allows a small but valuable break from everyday life.
Clearly, Rome, Milan, Venice offer one more reason to be visited by their always rich program of events.

Giotto and the Trecento

Who still has not seen not aspects too: the exhibition "the Sovereign Master in dipintura" as Giotto was called, ended June 29. Complesso del Vittoriano to the most important retrospective devoted to what in fact is considered the most important artist of the Middle Ages, what with his unmistakable style has more than any other influenced the art of the Trecento.
To find an event dedicated to him of such proportions should go back in time, even to 1937 when Florence was to set up an exhibition epoch, in the wonderful Galleria degli Uffizi. 150 works (many signed by so many artists that have inspired Giotto) including 20 masterpieces by the artist executed in Florence, a few rounds to shine after years of restoration are also on display for the first time.

Hiroshige - The Master of Nature

Beato Angelico. The dawn of the Renaissance

We could not find better ways to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the death of Fra Angelico, one of the great protagonists of the first Italian Renaissance. An exhibition dedicated to him is that which is held in the Capitoline Museums in Rome until July 5, more than fifty years from that which took place in Rome (but also in Florence). To a monographic retrospective that includes the exhibition of works never exhibited to date will come and most prestigious Italian and foreign museums. Not to be missed.
