Lies on the Tyrrhenian coast to the north of the delta of the Tiber. They belong to the municipality of Fiumicino as well as the town of Fiumicino, other towns including Holy Island, which extends from the division of Delta (Chapter two branches) within the delta formed by the branch channel of Trajan and the branch called Fiumara Grande.
Sacred sites are the Isle of excavations of an ancient Roman necropolis necropolis at Portus with some very well-preserved mosaics and mosaic decorations or stucco. Near Trajan’s Canal, you can visit the remains of early Christian basilica of St. Hippolytus. Along the way Portuense you can visit what remains of Castle Harbor. Before this there is the archaeological area of the Port of Trajan.
At the end of the street Portuense, lies the town of Fiumicino, the center of the largest vessel of the Tyrrhenian Sea, site of a characteristic fish market, and popular center for quality catering and half full of bathers in the summer. Located near the museum where the ships are kept five Roman ships found in the port of Claudius during the construction of the airport.
